The Photographer: There were 9 of us growing up on a farm in Tennessee. My happiest memories are of my mother “wrangling” all of us for “just one more snapshot”. She always made us feel so beautiful inside and out. I couldn’t image why she was so patient with us. What was it she loved so much? I understand now.
My life-long passion for photography allows me to acknowledge my love of people, both young and old, by capturing a little glimpse into their souls. With children, it may involve playing chase, blowing bubbles or making my famous monkey-face …a lot of the time it’s great conversation and giggles.
The Meeting: I recommend that we first talk either by phone or in person to discuss your desires for our photo session. I will answer any questions you may have and we will work out any details, such as clothing, location, time of day or a special teddy bear that may need to come along. Please feel free to bring in samples of photographs that you like.
The Location: My preference is to shoot outdoors with natural light, and generally at a favorite place; a park, the beach, your backyard… it’s your choice. Many of my clients enjoy a shoot in my large, fenced-in backyard with its old-fashioned tree swing and lush gardens that provide beautiful afternoon light.
The Shoot: Please allow up to two hours. Once we’re satisfied that the children are comfortable, feel free to go for a stroll or a coffee. Many times the greatest moments happen when Mom is not around. If for any reason your children aren’t having their best day (and, as a mother of three, I understand that), I will be happy to reschedule within a two-week period.
Within a week or so after the shoot, I will contact you to let you know that your proofs are ready. You can choose to view them either on-line, or in person with me, which I prefer.
After your order is placed and payment is received it will take two weeks for your final
prints to arrive.
I strive to make each session unique and fun for everyone. My ultimate goal is to provide
you with portraits you will cherish always.
